A New World
The spirit of Rosh Hashanah is all about making a new start. You know friends, making a new start is not always easy. The baggage of the past is something that we all carry, even if we deny it. These attachments make it difficult for us to move ahead. This stagnates us as well. There are times when we cling on to a foolish hope, expecting things to turn out the way we want them to. But they don’t, do they?
That is when you need a new beginning. That is what Rosh Hashanah is all about. A perfect example would be Seth and Megan. Both are ready to put their past behind them and look forward. Similarly, we need an opportunity to rise above some chains that pull us down, and the time to do that is now! Make an effort and make a move forward. I’m going to give myself a good hard push to get out of the brackets of self-imposed complacency. You could be having similar situations in your life as well. Wouldn’t you like to share it with me and inspire me to move ahead? Write to me…

Puppy Love
Have you heard about the man who died and went to heaven? It’s one of those emails that people keep forwarding. The story goes that the man first went to heaven’s gate which had a grand entrance and asked if he could have water for himself and his companion — a dog. But the gate keeper said that no pets were allowed in heaven, so he kept walking. Then he found another entrance that was not so grand and he asked if he could enter and have some water for him and his pet dog. The gate keeper said to go right ahead and that there’s a bowl for his companion too at the fountain. So the man asked the gate keeper what place it was and the gate keeper said that it was heaven. “But the gate keeper down the street also said that it was heaven,” said the man. “Oh no,” said the gate keeper, “that’s hell, what kind of heaven won’t allow friends in?”
I really loved this story, I think it’s one of those stories that I don’t mind getting in my email over and over again. Looking at Rachael’s pup Toby, I keep thinking about love and friendship and I keep remembering about Kong when he was a pup. I mean when they say, “puppy love,” it really exists. And it’s unconditional love that your furry friend gives you and she or he will always be there for you no matter what. Do you have any pets? What are your pet stories? Do you want them to be featured in the newsletter, with your name and location? Let me know and send them into this email: bob@123greetings.com with ‘Pet Stories’ in the subject line. Get cracking!

In Memorium: 9/11
It was seven years ago that we woke up to something we never thought we would witness. I know that for me, it was a life changing experience living in New York. I’ve never seen the city change so much in one night. A lot of has happened in the world since that day, because of that day. But that day started a new beginning, a new era. You and I are part of it and the future is in our hands. We can shape it the way we want. The only way we can do that is by positive thinking.
The steel beams for the construction of the National September 11 Memorial and Museum arrived the other day. You probably know that they are planning to build the structure around the space that was occupied by the twin towers. After forty years, the same site is seeing construction again. But it’s a new generation now. Folks, I can feel the change and I think we need to welcome it. The new elections excite me, the new building excites me, I think we need that renewal of the spirit instead of getting bogged down by daily news of violence, wars, and recession.
What do you think of change? Do you think the way to a better future is to embrace change and live positively? Send in your 2 cents below!

Happy Working Mother’s Day!
Talk about working mothers, what do you guys think of Sarah Palin — the Republican Party nominee for Vice President? Any thoughts on whether the Republicans are going to win? Who are you going to vote for President? If she gets elected, she’s going to be the first working mother Vice President! I didn’t realize until the other day when I was talking to Donna.
And let’s not also forget about the moms who are not in the news. The moms who are meeting ends on a day-to-day basis. The moms who are working behind the scenes, the moms who have raised us and made us who we are. Here’s to all working moms!

The Wonder of Working Mothers
Folks, Donna’s doing great work as a mother and a professional. She’s bringing up her children really well. You know what, she’s great at her job and when she’s home, she slips into the shoes of a perfect mother, without skipping a beat. I think that’s an incredible quality to have. I mean, I have got Kong to look after, other than my deadlines and all. But I can assure both give me a really tough time! Wonder how Donna manages to keep things in order despite having much more on her plate.
I think the life of a working mother is a struggle, from the time they wake up to the moment they crash in. You and I meet them at all walks of life. If we cooperate with these women of extraordinary abilities, we’d not only make it a little easy for them, but also make them feel that we admire their guts and resilience. Don’t you think so?
