A New World

Send Rosh Hashanah EcardsThe spirit of Rosh Hashanah is all about making a new start. You know friends, making a new start is not always easy. The baggage of the past is something that we all carry, even if we deny it. These attachments make it difficult for us to move ahead. This stagnates us as well. There are times when we cling on to a foolish hope, expecting things to turn out the way we want them to. But they don’t, do they?

That is when you need a new beginning. That is what Rosh Hashanah is all about. A perfect example would be Seth and Megan. Both are ready to put their past behind them and look forward. Similarly, we need an opportunity to rise above some chains that pull us down, and the time to do that is now! Make an effort and make a move forward. I’m going to give myself a good hard push to get out of the brackets of self-imposed complacency. You could be having similar situations in your life as well. Wouldn’t you like to share it with me and inspire me to move ahead? Write to me…

  1. Dear Bob,
new beginnings issue has some what to do with make change issue, both share one vital main component, “WILLINGNESS”, if you have an iron will, nothing will stand in your face IF it meant to be yours or meant to happen to you. And you are 100% right, it’s very difficult continue or perhaps to start all over again, but what’s the purpose of living if each time you hit the ground you don’t rise up again.
A few verses from a poem called “IF” for Sir Rudyard Kipling, that said something about wll, it says:
If you can bear to hear the truth you’ve spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,
And stoop and build ’em up with worn-out tools:
If you can make one heap of all your winnings
And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings
    And never breathe a word about your loss;
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the Will which says to them: ‘Hold on!’
    ….
the final verse which states the result says:
Yours is the Earth and everything that’s in it,
And – which is more – you’ll be a Man, my son!

  2. Hey Bob,
You are right. That is inspiring. We often cling to the past and forget about the future. The world is round. We have to look around us in all angles and that may bring about a new perspective to ourselves.

  3. I have been trying to get over some bad habits and have been making some progress for the first time in a long time now that I’m keeping a journal for accountability. I like the spirit of Rosh Hashanah and maybe that’s just what I need to keep moving forward with this project.

    Your positive attitude is refreshing.

  4. Good Morning Editor Bob!
A lot of people are scared to move on, b/c they have this fear that nothing will work out. People hold onto the past for security, its something thats already been done, something thats already happened….but the future is yet to come, and we have no idea what awaits us there, and that scares people. They think if they stay the way they have always been, and hold onto things, that everything will be alright. But in reality, they are so busy holding onto the past that the future passes right before their eyes, and they dont even know it.

Its like moving out of your parents house, people are so scared they wont make it, that they will have to do without, that they stay in their parents home, until they have no choice. Some are afraid of getting a job, of having that responsibility, some are afraid of getting in debt, others are just stubborn. In the end, theres always something there thats holding them back in their past, from the future.
