Maa Durga graces us all with Her presence during Durga Puja and we are blessed to be the recipients of the warmth of Her love. Festival of colors, creativity and religious fervor and of course music.

Men and women dressed in their ethnic best and creative pandals dotting the landscape, this is a beautiful festival not only for the spirit, but also for the eyes.

Dussehra reaffirms our faith that goodness will always win over evil. It is a festival celebrated in that spirit. It is quite a relevant theme in today’s times where evil seems to have a free will.

This festival reassures us that things will change and we have to believe that evil is not here to stay.

This just does not apply to the external evil that we can point at, but also the failure of the internal goodness. We shouldn’t fall prey to the evil path that is easy to follow and believe in goodness that will lead us to salvation.

Eid ul-Adha is the festival of sacrifice. A word I love the most – sacrifice. There is nothing more beautiful or selfless in this world than sacrifice. In a world where self-centered, selfishness is rampant, such a day puts things into perspective and lets us introspect on what is right and what is wrong.

The beauty of all these festivals is that they not only allow us to rejoice in the company of our friends and family, but also makes us believe, repose faith and be hopeful about the days to come.
