To fall in love is not the most important thing one can achieve. The romance is complete only when there is reciprocation. There is no noise to be heard from a one hand clap. Love may be many things to many people and the definition may vary from one to another, but the feeling of ecstasy when it works and the pain it gives when it doesn’t is the same all over the world. It is universal. No denying that. And then there are a few rules that are common to all lovers of the world. Let me try to pick out five of them for you… Let’s see if you agree.

1. Do not ever suspect. Rule number one. Never, ever suspect. Relationship will be hell. And it will be officially over before it started. Love and friendship demand trust.

2. Never compare. Never ever do that. You will invite suspicion for no reason and then there will be insecurity, which will lead to complications. And the relationship will be over.

3. Do not expect. Yes, don’t expect anything. Let him or her be. What you want will happen, but it will take its own sweet time. There is a thrill in waiting and when what you want happens you will be able to appreciate it better.

4. Don’t be noncommittal. There is nothing called a platonic relationship. Love by itself means commitment for life.
She or he is family, the moment you fall in love. There are no future upgrades or downgrades. It is one for life.
That’s a simple rule. Remember that.

5. Send greeting cards 🙂 Yes. You are never old for that. Don’t think you are in love now and you don’t need to woo your partner anymore. You have to woo him or her and stay in touch every single day. That’s love. Keep them wanted all their life. That’s the secret. And greeting cards help in that big time!
