It’s April Fools’ Day! It’s time to pull out those pranks that you have been waiting and planning all this while. I’m sure you guys are fine-tuning your plans and making the last minute changes. April Fools’ Day can be great fun if you have the right ingredients. The most basic ingredient is a simple plan. I’m amazed how simple plans are more effective than complicated, long winding ones. And keep them safe. While planning, remember that your ‘victim’ is a friend or a family member. You can only go up to a certain point and that’s it. You wouldn’t want this day to be spent in dousing fires caused by a prank that was only apparently harmless.

An innovative plan is what you need. But after you are done with the April Fools’ Day prank, make the person feel special. You chose this person to play your prank on because you know this person trusts and believes you. Respect and celebrate that. April Fools’ Day should cement relationships, not bring about cracks. So if you have doubts on how your plans will be accepted, modify the plans in a way that’s more humane. You can only have fun if your ‘victim’ enjoys the prank as much as you do.
