There are times when things don’t go our way even if they looked promising in the beginning. So, does that mean things come to an end? Does it mean that there is no hope? Or simply does it mean other things are waiting?
Last night I got a call from Ethan. He sounded low. “Hello, Uncle Bob. I really need to tell you something,” He said.
“You don’t sound fine. Please tell me. What is it?” I asked.
“You know how I was looking forward to a new project and soon became a part of it? We were this close to achieving the first milestone when the project got discontinued. I am very upset! This would have been one big thing for me!” He expressed.
His voice was shaking and I could feel it. It’s not easy to see the thing where we have put our heart and soul into go away that easily. And, Ethan was highly passionate about it. That’s the reason he could not even visit home for months. But, that’s life! It’s unexpected and we have to learn to look at things differently.
“Ethan, I know that you are upset and nothing I say can take away that feeling. But, I want you to know this is not the end. Often a closed door paves the way for new beginnings!” I expressed.
“I hope that too! But, how do I feel at ease now?” He asked.
“The project did not end for you. It happened for reasons that were not under your control. Stop pondering on it as you will not find any answers! You gave your best and that effort will never go unnoticed. New opportunities will be knocking at your door soon!” I said.
“Are you sure I will be getting something as big as this?” He asked.
“Even bigger than this. Mark my words! Just believe in yourself and have faith!” I said.
“Thank you so much, Uncle Bob. I am feeling a lot better,” He said.
“I am glad. Now have a good night’s sleep and wake up with a wide smile tomorrow,” I said. Then we hung up. Life might throw unexpected situations at times but we must not feel like it’s the end. We should give our best and trust our efforts. We must know that no matter how grim the situation looks now, it will always have light in the end. There will always be a positive outcome, no matter what!
