Although many Christians in the western world celebrate Christmas on December 25, some follow a different calendar, which has Christmas falling on Jan 7. The Orthodox Church follows the Julian calendar, created in 45 BC during Julius Caesar’s reign. Latin Pope Gregory of Rome created another calendar later in 1582; this was referred to as the Gregorian calendar, which is now what most of the western world follows. There is only a 13-day difference between them and both Christmas are celebrated on what is considered the 25 of December, however, they fall differently on each calendar.
