Well then, you’re in luck. Because this week is chock full of sweetness, what with Chocolate Cake Day, National Pie Day, and Compliment Day coming right up!

My girlfriend Aaliyah was hinting over dinner last night that I should take her out for a chocolate indulgence on Chocolate Cake Day, next Monday, January 27th.

I jokingly told her that I would send her a Chocolate Cake Day e-card instead, which resulted in an imminent death stare. I, of course, ended up grovelling for forgiveness, resulting in a promise to buy her a delicious chocolate cake from her favorite bakery.

And just like that, Aaliyah broke into a radiant smile.

There’s just something about chocolate cake that makes a person smile, isn’t it? So, forget your diet this week, and lets celebrate Chocolate Cake Day by indulging in some delicious chocolate cake with your friends and family! You can remind them of the day by sending them a Chocolate Cake Day greeting, of course.

While I’m looking forward to Chocolate Cake Day, I must say that I’m more excited for National Pie Day, which is coming up this Thursday, January 23rd.

I just can’t think of anything more homely than the smell of a freshly baked pie coming out of the oven. It always brings me back to childhood memories of Sunday tea and the apple pies my mother would make for the family and the neighbors.

Unfortunately, I don’t have the culinary skills to bake a pie for the neighbors on National Pie Day. But hey, that’s not stopping me from sending out a mouth-watering ecard!

And just when you think the week couldn’t get any sweeter, along comes Compliment Day on Friday, 24th January. It’s a great time for you to let all those wonderful people in your life know how special they are in their own sweet way with a slice of a sweet compliment.
