The winter holiday season is approaching. You know what I look forward to the most during this time of the year? It’s making a cool snowman, of course! And I’m feeling lucky that we will have a white Christmas, even though the calendar says that luck is not with us this Friday.

Yup, check your calendar guys and gals. This Friday is the unlucky Friday the 13th. Before you start spooking yourself with back-to-back reruns of Friday the 13th movie and decking the halls with four-leaf clovers and rabbit’s feet, consider this:

This year, Friday the 13th is also Ice Cream Day! Now, how can any day be an unlucky day when it’s Ice Cream Day?

I was so excited about Ice Cream Day falling on the same day as Friday the 13th, that I convinced my flatmate Adrian to make mini-snowman deserts with vanilla ice cream for our Friday 13th party.

(Well, it’s also an excuse for me to get a head start in making snowmans.)

I already have lots of ideas in mind. Like, jellybeans for his eyes and candy for his buttons. Maybe even a candy cane as his walking stick. Better still, we can make the vanilla ice cream look scary with missing limbs.

So put aside those horror movies on Friday 13th party night and get creative with serving up your favorite ice cream instead. Don’t forget to also tell all your friends that it’s Ice Cream Day with these cool cards and yummy wishes.
