Independence sure does smell nice. We commemorate the adoption of Declaration of Independence on this day and it is a beautiful day isn’t it? Fireworks all over the sky, parades and a lot many activities on Fourth of July; it is a day of fun and frolic.
Not many know the importance of this occasion, but just the celebration. I firmly believe that only those who know the meaning and the reasoning behind the festivals and occasions should only celebrate them. How lazy are we?

Is it too much to ask to just browse through the Internet to find out about the festivals and occasions? Freedom is one thing, indifference is another. As a populace who call United States of America our home, we should be respectful about its history. If you know your history, your current affairs would be good.3
The reason is because you would know the sacrifices and the circumstances and you would behave far more reasonably than you are today.
Fourth of July is not just another occasion. It is a very important day in the history of our country. It is not just a day when blockbuster movies are released. Yes, flock to the movies as you always will, but spare a moment for the significance of the occasion to set in. Educate the kid in the family about the same.
History lives as long as we understand it and pass it on to the next generation. We should be proud of our history and mindful of the heroes who brought us to a happy place.
We are sitting pretty due to the tears, sweat and blood of our ancestors and that thought should never be forgotten.
Every American has a duty – uphold the spirit in which the Declaration of Independence came into being.
