Not good news at all. Strange things happen in life. Bad people live long and good people move on. You may say he has lived a good amount of years, but the time he lost during imprisonment we discount. Strangely though, he is known to the world, loved and his stature celebrated is for the time he spent in prison.
We celebrate his sacrifice, his patience and will to fight albeit silently.
That is what he is doing with his life too now. He has been in and out of the hospital and the media outlets all over the world are waiting hungrily.

Any word and there will be eulogies published because I am sure they are already written and waiting. Once that’s done, maybe a week full of goodies about him and his life, awards named after him and then relegated to history book and forgotten.
Today’s world treats geniuses and heroes thus.
Mandela was different. Martin Luther King Jr. was different. Mahatma Gandhi was different.
They never forgot their heroes. They took it upon themselves to become heroes in their own right without meaning to.
And the tributes are sickening these days. Most of the tributes are 130 words through social media. Even rest in peace has become RIP.
We don’t even have the patience or time to bid goodbye to good souls. We have too many things to do with our time like… Nothing useful!
No leader is taking to the street anywhere in the world anymore. Have you noticed that?
Leaders have offices.
People don’t know the leaders anymore until and unless it is the election campaign time and they take time to take a bite at a local eatery to canvas for votes.
Sickening state of affairs.
People became leaders once. Now, corporate-trained, experts choreographed, visual media-helped professionals are becoming leaders.
We miss the earthiness and that’s why we pray for Mr. Mandela.
