The man behind the scenes, always, has a day dedicated to himself. Yes, we are talking about the unsung dad!
It is always about the mom, isn’t it? Hey, don’t get me wrong. Of course, moms deserve the respect they unfailingly are bestowed, but there is a dad too in the picture whom we seldom acknowledge. He is this guy who is not as emotive as the lady of the house and has trouble communicating his love, usually!

He is usually portrayed as indifferent or not always there!
If he is not always there, it is because he is somewhere else working for the family. Yes, for the family. His absence is a sacrifice. His work is important to him because that work feeds his family, his children. That is why he is there at work instead of at home.
This simple distinction and understanding escapes many a children and therefore, dad is more often than not described as a person who is always away at work. Sometimes this statement is accompanied by an accusation that he doesn’t have time for the family.
Not fair at all!
And him being indifferent… That’s because, he is like that. Unlike a mom who has her grip on the emotions and ways to communicate with the child, dad doesn’t have that skill. A father loves his kids as much or more, but his way of showing his love is to work hard; very hard. He believes that is his role.
There are a good number of dads nowadays who have learnt to emote and are friendly. But the fathers of yore; usually were a combination of a dad and a teacher.
That role led to discipline in the house and that’s how families worked.
