Whenever someone asks my niece Rachel… “What’s your name angel?”
She would reply, “I am Mr. Smith’s daughter.”
My sister noticed that and reprimanded her… “You should say that my name is Rachel and not Smith’s daughter.”
Well, that settled the issue, but my niece wasn’t really happy about the change.
We went to a church wedding the other day and then the old aunt, Matilda at the end of the pew recognized Rachel and asked her, “Hey little one, aren’t you Mr. Smith’s daughter?”
Rachel promptly shouted… “I too thought so, but my mom thinks I am not!”
Ah! Rachel did it again!
Those who heard rustled and gasped and there was a mild chaos between the pews and someone said, “Don’t make noise in the church.”
And Rachel responded, “Yes, it may wake up others who are sleeping.”
At this point, even the Father started chuckling.
A little girl is always forgiven and so she was.
A few moments of silence and she was at it again…
“Uncle Bob, why is the bride in all white?”
“Rachel, this is the best day of her life and white also means happiness.” I said proudly.
She thought for a moment and asked…
“So, why is the groom in all black?”
Even the bride and groom were laughing now.
Hope you had some laugh too!
