And the date with the one whom you really want in your life is nerve-wracking. Aaliyah and I had jus’ met and were on a string of dates. This was the third date and we have warmed up a bit, but quite not there…
I was usually awestruck when I was with her then and found it tough to communicate freely. She herself would say only a few words.
Mostly we would be looking at each other.
On the date, we made it to 15 minutes and then I looked away… In search of words. Saw a little pup chasing a Frisbee.
She stared at me for a while and then asked me…
“Well, you gotta go, Bob?”
I was taken aback. Well, she has decided to leave and it will only be polite to let her have her way.
“Yes, I have to meet a friend.” I said.
I had no one to meet and I would meet no one in the world to be with her. That’s the truth.
“Alright then!” she said and bolted straight out of the park bench.
“Okay, see ya!” I blurted out and made my way in the opposite direction where there was no exit.
A few paces down, I didn’t feel right, felt something gnawing at the back of my throat… Felt a pair of eyes on the back of my head and turned back…
Feet forward, but head turned towards, her eyes were burning me with a ferocious stare.
I turned and ran to her…
Held her hands with courage that came from, I don’t know where, and said…
“I never wanted to leave!”
“Kiss me, Bob!”
The rest as they say is history!
So, my dear friends, never ever allow miscommunication to spoil your relationship. Always be on the lookout for subtle hints from your partner and always, always listen to your intuition.
It is never wrong.
Nothing cures a tiff with your lover than a good conversation. And for that initiative has to be taken. Never hesitate to do that. Don’t let your ego to break your heart.
Life is too short to make yourself feel important.
It’s all about living the moment.
