North Korea Threatens War!

North Korean rhetoric has been going on for a while, but now the noise is overwhelming. South Korea is on the tenterhooks for some time now and looks like the latest move by the North to cut the military hotline is the last straw.

The new leader, the young man, Kim Jong Un is flexing muscles and maybe trying to prove a point that he is a leader to his people. But the repercussions are unthinkable. American forces are stationed in South Korea and war sirens are a definite worry for their families and citizens as a whole.

Add to all this is the claim by North Koreans that they possess the bomb, nuclear, I mean.

Let us hope and pray that sanity prevails and the war clouds disperse.

For now, we can only hope. North Korean actions are often unpredictable and given the amount of sanctions laid on them by the international community they are sure angry. If the rhetoric will turn into action, we will never know, but they are sure making the world worry.

This is a closed country and not many have made any inroads in understanding the psyche of the masses. Such a country in this era of free world is a rarity and their people suffering everyday is not a pleasant thought.

No one wants war, I am sure, and even North Koreans don’t want it. Give the old trick, the diplomacy, a try. That is what we can advise to our leaders who hold the power.

We have seen enough wars for a generation and maybe it is time we stop with the weapons not only in the battle front, but also in the country itself. Regulating guns and saving some children in the process is also a good initiative.

When kids get angry and lonely, they are supposed to cry and go to their parents, friends and peers and not resort to killing others with guns that they can easily access.
