Just when you thought the big day is over, here comes the same event once more in the form of Orthodox Christmas.
Wondering if I have gone insane?
Well, no. Christmas is celebrated on December 25th by most of the people around the world, but then there are a good number of people who celebrate it on January 7th.
Ask me why?
The reason is that these people follow the Julian calendar and haven’t shifted to the Gregorian calendar that most of the world’s Christians follow.

The reason is just that and nothing more. The faithful throng the church for a day of festivities and prayer. The celebrations mirror what the world does on December 25th and the difference usually lies in their orthodox way of going about it. The church is in full attendance.
The interesting part is one Christmas ends the year on a high note and another one starts the year on a high note.
Christ is the beginning and the end!
The calendars may differ, but the faith remains the same. There are innumerable paths to reach God and be at His feet. Every single path is completely different from another. True. But all the paths that lead to Him are lit by a light called love.
Dates don’t matter; calendars don’t matter be it Julian or Gregorian, but the final goal is One.
Close your eyes; bow your head down and sing in praise of Him. Every day is His day and every celebration with His name is pure.
