Honoring Commitments

Send Love EcardsThe definition of commitment seems to have changed over the years. It’s no longer staying happily together that is the be-all and end-all of staying committed. Now there are variations of the word commitment. It could be emotional commitment or just differences commitment. Confused? Let me explain. Emotional commitment is when you decide to remain committed despite being away from each other or being at a geographical distance. You guys decide to be there for each other and remain committed. Let me remind you here, that it could be you are not in a formal relationship as such. You could be just friends.

Differences commitment is when you accept that the two of you are different human beings and there’s bound to be some differences in your opinion. So, you learn to take it in your stride and not let it snowball into bigger differences of opinion. It also means that you accept your partner as they are, without attempting to change the innate personality of that person. But whatever the commitment type may be, honoring commitments is not easy. You have to work at it. You have to reflect every now and then to check if things are going on the right track. Always remember that nothing is perfect, we have to make it work for us.

Do you believe in these types of commitments? I think it’s all about how serious you are about nurturing the bond that you share with your loved one. If you put your heart to it, these definitions of relationships would not matter to you. Ultimately, it’s your bond that matters, not these theories. Do we agree on this?

Inspirational Mondays: Get To Work!

Send Monday Morning Blues Ecards“Amateurs wait for inspiration. The rest of us just get up and go to work.” - Chuck Close

Monday morning blues can be very intimidating sometimes. Sometimes I feel low since Sunday afternoon. Not that I hate my work, on the contrary, but there’s something about Monday that is so persistently depressing, don’t you think so? But, as the cliche goes, the show must go on. So, despite a bagful of unwillingness, we still pick that up and set out to work. And that can be the antidote, though we don’t realize it often. Imagine sitting at home on a Monday, doing nothing. The work that you hate to do on Monday is what sees you through the day. Isn’t that amazing?

There are so many things that continue to escape our notice, though it lies right in front of us. The quote is so right. Inspiration is something that will come to you only if you keep your doors open and you can’t do that when you are partying or just out! For a professional, the work they do is good enough to get them out of the Monday morning blues. Another way to get inspired on a Monday morning is to keep a plan ready. If you have a plan of the day’s work-to-do among the papers you carry to office, you’ll be on track to get things done efficiently. You get into the groove easily and before you realize, the rust you accumulated over the weekend is scraped out!

I take a long time to bring myself to write on a Monday morning. There’s that famed writer’s block at the back of my mind, not to mention the thought of the weekend that just whizzed past. It takes a lot of effort to hammer out one good line. I could really do with some of these inspirational quotes. Do you have one that you can share with us? How do you work on a Monday morning? Does it take a lot of effort to settle down? Write to me, you never know, you may end up inspiring someone who’s having a rather bad day in office!

Do You Watch Celebrity Apprentice?

Send Everyday EcardsWith the American Idol fever going great guns, another TV show is breaking out into my personal space. This time it’s not the TV freak Adrian and Irina, it’s Megan! She’s much interested in the NBC show Celebrity Apprentice. The interest point for the Celebrity Apprentice is more valid for Megan than the American Idol can ever be for Adrian and Irina. Megan is super-excited that these celebrity apprentices will be making and selling cupcakes on the streets of New York! That is what I heard, along with some details about the show itself.

Celebrity Apprentice splits the participants according to gender. The project manager of the men’s team is Herschel Walker. Their team is named KOTU (King of the Universe). The women’s team project manager is Joan Rivers, and they call themselves Team Athena. Megan was telling me that the women’s team somewhat lacks in the celebrity quotient. She also told me that the men’s team planned to use the celeb power of Andrew Dice Clay to make it easier for them to sell cupcakes in New York. But the irony was that he was the first one to be fired! Such is life!

Will you be catching the action on NBC’s Celebrity Apprentice? It should be great fun to watch these celebs battle it out as apprentices. Reality shows are big on the horizon now, and it is surely worth the time to watch a couple of them. At least, they will make for a nice gossip behind the water cooler in the office! Don’t you think so?
